Sometimes, you want to be able to hide the admin bar without logging out of your site. It can be very helpful, but it can also become annoying when you don’t need it. There is a way to disable it from your profile or for all users, but then you lose all the shortcuts. Here’s how you can partially hide the WordPress admin bar from your site.
Using the Admin Bar Button Plugin for WordPress
Start by installing and activating the Admin Bar Button Plugin for WordPress. This plugin will allow you to hide the admin bar from your website very easily.
After you have activated the plugin, you can visit your site to see it in action. You will see that the admin bar is now a slide in and you can hide it or have it slide back out with just a simple click of your mouse.
The configurations for the plugin are found under Settings>>Admin Bar Button. You can change what the text of the button shows, the text direction, the position on the screen and more. This page will allow you to customize the button to fit your needs.
You can also make changes to the WordPress Admin Bar Settings. This tab will allow you to change the slide duration, the slide direction, how the admin bar behaves and more.
Once you have chosen the settings you prefer, you can click the “save” button. You can always use the “restore defaults” button to start back from the original settings of the plugin.
Now you know how to partially hide the admin bar in WordPress. Whether you want to use this plugin to make the admin bar easier to deal with and not so “in-your-face” when you’re not in your dashboard or you just want to use it to change some of the settings of the admin bar, it will help you customize your WordPress site for all of your users.
